This section contains answers to frequently asked questions about signing up for and using Dynamics 365 Business Central (D365BC).
D365BC can be deployed in mainly two methods, either online (SaaS) or on-premises.
D365BC user licenses are named.
D365BC can have two offerings Essentials and Premium. The Essentials license is ideal for companies that need sophisticated processes, yet simple enough to be managed in one solution across finance, opportunity, supply chain, and project management. The Premium license offers the same functionality in the Essentials, with the added key functionality for manufacturing and service order management. It is important to note that all Named Subscriptions must be the same.
D365BC user subscriptions classify users into two types, Full Users and Team Members. Full users are the users whose work requires use of the feature rich business applications functionality. Team Members license includes read access as well as some write access for select light tasks across D365BC. It is important to note that every Customer needs to have at least one Full User. Team Member Licenses have some differences between D365BC SaaS and On-Premises
D365BC SaaS requires that you use a work, or school, email address to sign up. Business Central does not support email addresses provided by consumer email services or telecommunication providers. This includes outlook.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com, and others. If you try to sign up with a personal email address, you will get a message indicating to use a work or school email address.
